The cinnamon syrup is not for classic cocktails. But it can be perfect tool for creating your own versions of well-known cocktails. I successfully used it in some modern cocktails. In addition, this cinnamon syrup will be nice in your cup of tea or coffee.
Warm wood flavor of cinnamon combines very well with whiskey as well as with full-bodied rum.
Ingredients:
- 2 cinnamon sticks,
- 100 grams sugar,
- 100 ml water.
Crush cinnamon sticks in a mortar.
Place it in small saucepan, add water and bring to the boil.
Let simmer for 10-15 minutes approximately.
Then strain it and discard solids.
Bring liquid to the boil again, add sugar and stir it to dissolve.
Cool the syrup, bottle and keep it in refrigerator.
