Green tea syrup could be nice addition to the simple drinks based on gin, Gimlet for example. Or try it to reignite your passion to Dry Martini. Two dashes of green tea syrup are enough to make it a bit sweeter and very tasty.
Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon of green tea,
- 100 grams sugar,
- 100 ml water.
I recommend using good Chinese green tea, not tea-bags. It could be oolong or another type of green tea you like. Note that flavored teas can damage light tea aroma in the syrup.
In a small saucepan bring water to the boil. Use two or three tablespoons of hot water to brew the tea in the warmed cup.
Stir sugar in the remaining water until it dissolves.
Pour hot sugar syrup into the cup with brewed green tea.
Let it sit for 10 minutes then strain infused syrup.
